Red Alert 2 Random Serial Number Class 2000
the important thing to remember is that the drive would not have been activated without having the correct serial number, or device id. just in case, you should try to memorize the serial number or device id of the drive you are trying to activate. you may need it to ensure that you are activating the right drive, especially if you are not sure about the device id.
it is a great idea to have a written record of the serial number or device id of each hard drive or other piece of equipment you purchase. keep a copy of your receipt or other documentation on your computer in case you need to contact the manufacturer or vendor for any reason. you never know when that may come in handy.
if you think you are being scammed, the best thing to do is contact your local authorities and/or reach out directly to the company the potential scammer professes to represent. do not use phone numbers given to you from potential fraudsters, simply hang up and get the number yourself. for example, if someone calls from your bank (even if the caller identification appears to be legitimate), hang up and call your bank directly using the telephone number on your account statements. the same is true for emails. if you see anything amiss (misspellings in the the words, close-but-not-exact email addresses and anything else suspicious), just delete the email. if you want to be certain it is bogus, call the company directly again, not the phone number listed in the email.
